CAMP PROGRAM INFO: "The Premier Soccer Training System" - implements our step by step process of physical technique DEMONSTRATIONS, You then IMITATE these demonstrated skills/techniques in training, we then give you the opportunity to EXECUTE these skills in competition with our continued expert guidance and coaching. "The PSTS" is offered at all our Soccer Camps in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy combines a five-night, six-day residential Summer Soccer Camp for girls ages 12-18 and a Leadership Academy. This year in NJ we successfully integrated Lacrosse into the Academy for Girls ages 12-18.

We focus on two overlapping components-- Sports and Leadership.

CAMP FACILITIES: Founded in 1838, The Pennington School encompasses 54 acres complete with an outdoor track and nearby running trails. Located just 40 miles from Philadelphia and 60 from NYC, Pennington is centrally located with easy access for our campers coming from across the Northeast. Overnight campers stay in the dorms on campus and eat in the school's dining hall. Lunch and dinner are included for our extended day campers.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a brand new activities building for girls to eat their lunch, programming and more. Our pools offers us the ability for all girls to go swimming and have swim lessons daily, as well as offer a specialty aquatics program. Platform tents, tebins, pavilions and our cabin provide additional program space. Additional program areas include archery, a low ropes course with a zipline, maker space and large fields offer a wide variety of activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp sessions run from July 7 through August 13. Camp DeWitt offers two experiences: General and Specialty.

General Camp programs are designed for girls entering grades K-10 and provide a broad camp experience with varied activities and pool time daily. General Camp programs enable you to experience an array of camp activities every day.

Our Specialty Camp programs are designed for girls entering grades 2-10. Activities are grouped according to program, age, and interest level. Specialty Camp programs focus on a particular interest combined with traditional camp activities like hiking, cook-outs, crafts, and games.

GSHNJ camps are a place where each and every girl can feel safe, valued and supported while making new friends and challenging themselves to try new things. Camp staff is committed to ensuring the health, safety and overall well-being of all campers. GSHNJ camps follow the program standards for health, safety and security guidelines of GSHNJ, GSUSA, ACA, and the New Jersey Youth Camp Standards.

Day camp sessions will run from July 6 through August 14 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday for girls entering Kindergarten to grade 10. In addition to the program theme, girls will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of camp activities which may include hiking, outdoor cooking, nature activities, games, sports, singing, archery (grades 2 and up) and a low ropes course. Our activities building will offer shelter from extreme heat and major storms. Specialty Camp programs focus on a particular interest combined with traditional camp activities like hiking, cook-outs, crafts and games.

Our camp program is based on the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Several of our programs are designed for girls to earn a full badge during the time at camp. Other program may also earn badges or parts of badges. This information will be available after your daughter’s stay at camp.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Earn your Girl Scouts CIT award as you master your leadership and counseling skills. Discover your personal leadership style as you work to identify and build on the strengths you already possess. Participate in activities that teach you skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to become a successful counselor in your first week, then work directly with younger campers during your second week.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp is available for rent. Our camps are beautiful and full of activities like archery, geocaching, ropes courses and more trails than you can imagine. You can pitch your own tent or stay in one of our winterized cabins—either way, you'll feel right at home.

Girl Scout Programming throughout the year. Becoming a Girl Scout means getting to participate in a ton of fun programs and events. Earn badges, complete journeys and learn new things through our programs designed for girls who are ready to change the world.

Events and activities a la carte. GSHNJ offers opportunities for you, your troop, or group to participate in a staff-led program at a time and location that works for you! SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Camp Agnes DeWitt hires enthusiastic and dedicated adults to provide our summer camp program for girls. All camp staff participate in one week of pre-camp training conducted by trained professionals and many have taken additional training in their specialty areas. All waterfront activities are supervised by American Red Cross certified lifeguards.

Camp DeWitt follows the program standards for health, safety and security guidelines of GSHNJ, GSUSA, the American Camp Association, as well as the New Jersey Youth Camp Standards.

CAMP FACILITIES: The Colts Neck Golf Club facility features an 18 hole championship golf course, double sided driving range, grass tees and a short game area that gives the camp exclusive use during the summer.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Director of Instruction Bob Gartner started the camp in 2001 and is still the Camp Director. His prior experience includes time with Family Golf Centers, Golf Digest, The Nicklaus/Flick Golf Schools and RDC Golf as well as two years developing GOAL GOLF in the mid 1990's.

The camp offers the lowest student/teacher ratio with 2 or 3 students per counselor and ALL COUNSELORS have graduated from Mr. Gartner's junior golf program so the camp has a familial feel.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Reign operates on the spacious grounds of Toll Gate Grammar, which is located within the Hopewell Valley Regional School District.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: CAMP REIGN is a State Licensed Day Camp and accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). Accreditation is voluntary and means our camp meets over 300 standards in health and safety, which allows us to provide a greet camp environment for all campers. FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): The Parent, Volleyball and Me program provides young volleyball players the opportunity to receive training from a certified instructor on the solid foundation of volleyball and emphasizing good habits from the very beginning. Each training session (8 in total) will build upon a solid foundation of all fundamental movement and the skills needed to participate in the sport of volleyball. The program may also include some competition or game-like drills, volleyball scrimmages and other organized activities.

Parents will also benefit by spending time with their kids thus enhancing their relations from the sport they both are learning as well as having a more realistic view of the different developmental stages of a player from 5 – 7 years old (Fundamentals) to introduction to league and/or recreational play for ages 8 - 10. Those players who have developed their fundamental skills may move on to a more competitive environment (club or travel local team). It is a very fun, positive, confidence building, and supportive training and learning atmosphere.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our state-of-the-art facility boasts an outdoor, heated swimming pool, athletic fields, tennis courts, a cutting edge central air-conditioned school building including a huge gym, cafeteria, numerous classrooms/activity rooms and more.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Harbor Haven is ACA (American Camp Association) accredited, and a state and town approved youth camp. Since 1997 parents, children, professionals and service providers have recognized and praised the excellent results of our program.

Our staff is professional, experienced and highly trained. Each senior staff member holds a degree in special education or a related field with experience in both educational and therapeutic settings working with children with special needs. Counselors are carefully selected for their ability to facilitate growth for our children and their motivation to work in our setting.

We provide a safe, secure, fun and motivating environment. A registered nurse is on site. Staff undergo thorough background checks. Staff to child ratio is 1:3 or better. Safety and security are carefully monitored.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Harbor Haven has a two week volunteer program for 17 and 18 year olds. There are very limited spots available. An interview is required along with completing an application and getting 3 letters of recommendation.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Some campers receive funding through their school district. Check with your case manager to see if this is an option for your child.

You can submit limited portions of the Harbor Haven program to your insurance company for reimbursement. We can provide you with a codified bill after you have paid in full.

We are approved by Perform Care (formerly known as DDD.) Your child must be eligible for funding from this agency.

Other agencies such as Catholic Charities, Kiwanis and Knights of Pythias and Columbus have provided scholarships in the past.

All of the above must be pursued by the parents/guardians. Harbor Haven will be happy to complete any paperwork required of them.

CAMP FACILITIES: Overnight campers experience life in the outdoors by living in teepees and canvas hogans in family-like small camps of 8 to 10 peers. Every small camp is equipped with canvas shelters housing up to 4 campers, running water for drinking and washing, a non-flushing latrine, and a fire circle for nightly pow wows, songs, and games. There are two centrally-located shower houses for daily hot showers, and a dining hall where breakfast and dinner are served family style.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We believe that going outside is the best way for young people to grow within. That belief has been central for 130 years of helping young people develop the values and skills essential for productive citizenship.

Since 1887, Trail Blazers has sponsored thousands of children to take part in these outdoor adventures where learning happens experientially — by living and playing together, and experiencing the challenges and opportunities the natural environment offers. Today, Trail Blazers remains the second oldest summer program in existence in the United States, and the first to offer environmental education.

As an ACA accredited camp, we insure that all staff are trained professionals in their area. We certify American Red Cross Life Guards and recruit staff from all over the country and the world with a passion for youth development and the outdoors. Each staff member undergoes a skill screening, intensive interview, reference check, and background check. Staff also complete a two-week pre-camp training course covering all aspects of the Trail Blazers program to prepare for the important job of looking after your child's physical and emotional safety.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Leader-in-Training program at Trail Blazers is designed for current high school students who wish to develop leadership skills through active participation in different aspects of the Trail Blazers Sleep Away program. Our Leaders in Training develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and environmental consciousness as they learn how to manage the responsibility that comes with being a role model at camp. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The camp will be led by Monmouth University's Men's Head Coach Alex Kasarov and Monmouth Men's Assistant Coach, Michael Schwartz. Kasarov was awarded MAAC Conference Coach of the Year in 2017, for leading the men's team to it's back-to-back conference titles (2016 and 2017). Prior to joining Monmouth, Kasarov was Men's Assistant Coach at Davidson College in North Carolina, and Volunteer Women's Assistant Coach at Northwestern University.

In his years before college coaching, Kasarov was a private tennis coach where he worked with top nationally ranked junior players. During his collegiate career, Kasarov was a key member of the University of Wisconsin Men's Tennis Team, competing at the number 1 spot in both Singles and Doubles for three straight years. He was named Team Captain his junior year and earned All-Big Ten honors. In addition, Kasarov earned MVP honors that year and was recipient of the Big Ten Conference Sportsmanship Award. Nationally, Kasarov was ranked as high as eight in Doubles during his career.

Schwartz' tennis career started at the University of Alabama, after being highly ranked as a junior player. In his senior season of 1966 at Alabama, Schwartz had his best year for The Crimson Tide, with a season record of 20-6, while being named Honorable Mention All-SEC.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Campers will spend four hour on the university's tennis courts and an hour in the classroom daily. The camp is designed to help each camper improve skills, while gaining a better understanding of the sport through a variety of drills and strategy sessions, including a special focus on doubles play. The camp will hold a maximum camper to coach ratio of 5 to 1, and participants will be grouped according to ability and age to attain maximum benefits of instruction. In addition to the Monmouth Coaching staff, NCAA D1 players will be part of the coaching councilors.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CIT (Counselor-In-Training) Program For Teens Entering 10th Grade 9 am-4 pm (8 weeks) Participants in the CIT Program have the opportunity to develop the skills and experience they need to become camp counselors in summers to come. CIT's participate in special sessions on group dynamics, Jewish programming and leadership training. They develop a close group made up of other teens in leadership capacities and receive support, assistance and guidance throughout the camp season. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Hoover has a large, modern dining hall, three cabins, five tent sites, a primitive site, a recreation building and full usage of Swartswood Lake for swimming, boating, and sailing. A large playfield, ropes course, archery course, hiking trails and a craft center are available for all campers.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Girls entering grades 1 to 12 can choose from one or all of the camps operated by GSHNJ. All girls are welcome to participate in our summer camp programs regardless of race, religion, physical ability, economic status, or national origin. Our camp program is based on the values of the Girl Scout Promise and Law. GSHNJ camps provide a strong focus on Girl Scout fundamentals and in many of our programs girls will earn a Badge or portions of one.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Lifeguard Training: Spend a week at Camp Hoover learning the basics of water rescue and safety and earning the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification, as well as First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED. Note: All campers participating in this program need to be strong swimmers and demonstrate ability to complete a series of pre-course water tests including a continuous distance swim. Level 1 Archery Instructor: Become a certified Level 1 Archery Instructor! This course provides the necessary tools to maintain safety both on and off the archery range, covering range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans. Level 1 Instructors are well prepared to teach beginner archery programs in both indoor and outdoor settings. Minimum age requirement is 15. Successful completion of the course (passing both written and practical exams) provides a three year certification. (Ages 15+, Fee $575)

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Family Camp is the perfect time to bring your group to Hoover and enjoy a day or two (or more!) of fun summer activities. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: This is a fencing camp with all weapons, sabre, foil, epee offered. Kids with zero experience entering 5th through 9th grade are welcome. Kids with fencing experience 4th through 8th are welcome.

Camp Director, Vince Paragano, is the head fencing coach for Drew University. He is also the founder of the Bernards HS Fencing Team and the Governor Livingston Fencing Team. He is a multi Pan-American gold medal winner. He is one of few college fencing coaches who are still actively competing. Two of his children were top performing NJ high school fencers.

Camp Assistant Director, Dayn DeRose, is the former head coach for Drew University of 25 years. He is the head coach of South Mountain Fencing in Madison, NJ. He is a certified Maestro d' Arms with the US Fencing Coaches Association.

Camp Head Coach, Jerry Duffey, is the head coach for the Chatham High School Fencing Teams. The 2018-19 teams were the most successful yet in Chatham fencing, winning both the boys' and girls' NJAC Conference Championships, 3 District-1 Squad Championships, 2 District-1 Individual Champions, Morris County Boys' Team Championship and Individual Champion, Santelli Women's Sabre Squad bronze medal and Team 4th, Cetrulo Men's Sabre silver medal and team 7th, NJSIAA Fencing State Squads Men's Sabre silver medal and Women's Sabre bronze medal, NJSIAA Fencing Individual State Men's Sabre 4th, 5th, and 12th place, three NJSIAA Fencing All State Team Members.
