CAMPER AGES: 13-18
TYPE OF CAMP: Day Camp. Monday-Friday, 7am-9am
CAMPER GENDER(S): Coed Campers.
BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: ACRC's Learn-to-Row (LTR) program introduces kids, ages 12-18, to the competitive sport of team rowing. New LTR sessions begin every Monday morning, 7am-9am, beginning the first Monday in June.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:

CAMP LOCATION: Located on Alum Creek Reservoir's west bank, next to the Alum Creek Sailing Club. The entrance is off of Lewis Center Rd., one entrance West of the beach entrance. Once inside the park, keep right at the fork, and drive about 500 meters to a gravel lot on the left. Follow the gravel path into the woods.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: WHAT TO EXPECT
Rowers will be placed in a boat (scull), called an “eight”, with other new rowers.
Coaches will ride alongside the scull in a motorized boat, giving instruction and ensuring safety.
Rowers can expect to make new friends while enjoying an outdoor experience on Alum Creek Reservoir.
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING
Rowers should wear “spandex” on the bottom, as seats slide up and back causing loose clothing to get caught in them.
A t-shirt or tank on top
Socks and slip-off sandals - Sculls come equipped with shoes so rowers will remove their sandals on the dock.
A bottle of water (reusable is preferred), sunscreen and a beach towel.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
COST: $100 for two week session
LTR graduates can apply the $100 LTR fee toward our Summer Rowing program, which runs June -August .
