BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Camp Zip is dedicated to providing opportunities to adults with disabilities. Our staff works year round to ensure that your experience at Camp Zip meets your needs and exceeds their expectations! Our goal is to be the best!
SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: Campers will be presented with the opportunity to try new things and stretch themselves to be the best they can be! Camp Zip operates on the values of providing meaningful recreation opportunities while incorporating job skill development, socialization and life skills!
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Basketball, Baseball, Team Sports, Computers, Science, Technology, Adventure, Music/Band, and more. Cooking Classes.
CAMP LOCATION: We are located on the campus of Eastern Michigan University to include interaction with peers their age
CAMP FACILITIES: We use the entire city, parks, bus lines, swimming pools, movie theaters, campus facilities including the gym.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Staff members include professionals skilled and experienced in working with adults of varied abilities. Over and above their impressive credentials, our staff bring a myriad of skills to Camp Zip. Their strengths include training and experience in special education, psychology, atheletics, cooking, vocational skills, life skills and recreation.
The foundation for the success of our programs at Camp Zip is the quality of our staff. Each of our programs have 3 to 1 staff ratio. The staff and volunteers are trained professionals - teachers, psychologist, social workers, speech pathologists or teaching assistants in adult programs or college students going into special education. We are fortunate to have so many dedicated and caring people as part of our Camp Zip family.
