BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Sounds of Summer is a 1-week program developing musical talent and musical appreciation in youth of Washington. The camp offers orchestra rehearsals, master classes, faculty concerts, art and drama classes, fiddle class, jazz band, vocal ensemble, concert chorale, and a final gala concert. Recreational activities include campfires, a talent show, field sports, and dances.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Team Sports, Academics, Theater, Music/Band, Fine Arts/Crafts, and more. Recreational Field Sports, Music Theory, Individual Musical Instruction.
CAMP LOCATION: This year's camp will be at Camp Casey, on beautiful Whidbey Island, located just one hour north of Seattle.
CAMP FACILITIES: A huge play field, a mile-long beach, lodging in historic U.S. Army barracks, and delicious food service make Camp Casey on Puget Sound a group destination that, while close by, provides the natural setting for fun, exploration, and group bonding.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Sounds of Summer Music Festival is celebrating its 33rd year of providing a memorable summer experience for young musicians. Faculty members are top-class music performers and educators. Our goals are to aid each student to improve musically while making lasting connections with talented peers, and to provide a varied, challenging and fun summer experience in a beautiful outdoor environment.
CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
August 7-14, 2020; $900 overnight, $570 day campers
